ACT III – Scene.ii

 

This is a very brief scene and it illustrates that Iago is now much closer to Othello following Cassio’s dismissal, and it will give him an opportunity to manipulate and poison Othello’s thoughts.

 It also heightens the suspense as the audience realizes that an arrangement has now been made for Othello and Iago to meet, and this will clearly coincide with Cassio and Desdemona’s liaison.
