Later events concerning members of the Fellowship of the Ring
Sam and Rosie have thirteen children and Sam was Mayor of the Shire seven
times, ending his office at the age of 96. After the death of his wife, Rosie, Sam left the Shire and went over to the Blessed Realm, being the last of the Ring bearers in Middle Earth.
Merry and Pippin, after many years in the Shire, left, and traveled back to
Gondor to live out the rest of their years. After their deaths, they were buried alongside other heroes of Gondor.
Legolas built a gray ship in Ithilien, sailed down the River Anduin, and
over the sea with his companion, Gimli, the Dwarf.
